Randy Summerville, Psy.D. – Clinical Director

Dr. Randy Summerville completed his Doctorate in Psychology at Illinois School of Professional Psychology. Prior to being a licensed psychologist, he spent four years as a behavior modification specialist and acted as consulting clinical director for three of those years for the intellectually challenged population.
Currently, Dr. Summerville focuses his practice on neuropsychological and psychological assessment on an inpatient and outpatient basis where he examines neurocognitive and neurobehavioral functioning of patients with various neurological and neuropsychiatric disorders. He is on staff at eight area hospitals and over a dozen skilled nursing and assisted living facilities. He completed his fellowship in neuropsychology with a focus on pediatrics and advanced geriatrics. Dr. Summerville has a long history of speaking engagements, including a cable TV series. 
As ARCC’s clinical training director, Dr. Summerville also manages ARCC’s clinical training program and supervises students from various levels of education.
When not in the office or consulting at facilities, Dr. Summerville enjoys racing at Road America, traveling, and spending time outdoors with his dog, Gracie.

Daniel Polonsky Psy.D. – Postdoctoral Fellow

Dr. Daniel Polonsky received his B.S. in Brain and Behavioral Sciences from Purdue University. He completed his M.A. in Clinical Psychology and Doctor of Psychology degree at Adler University with an emphasis in Clinical Neuropsychology. Currently, Dr. Daniel Polonsky is a post-doctorate fellow in clinical neuropsychology at ARCC Neuropsychology. He conducts intake evaluations, neuropsychological and psychological assessments, and provides feedback to patients. He sees patients across the lifespan who have neurodevelopmental disorders, degenerative diseases, complex neurological conditions (e.g., epilepsy, cerebral palsy, and hydrocephalus etc.), sleep disorders, and affective conditions. Dr. Daniel Polonsky works in multiple settings including: outpatient clinic, hospitals, and nursing homes. Additionally, he works closely with our staff and students, provides supervision, and leads didactics.

 

Dr. Daniel Polonsky’s approach to therapy utilizes a combination of cognitive behavioral and existential therapies to allow his patients to achieve a fulfilling life, overcome complex obstacles, and develop meaningful connections.

 

Dr. Daniel Polonsky is also an adjunct professor at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology (TCSPP) where he teaches doctoral level clinical psychology graduate students fundamentals of biology, neurology, and neuroscience as well as the biological origins of psychiatric and mental health conditions. 

 

Outside of the professional environment, Dr. Daniel Polonsky is an avid golfer, musician, and reader. He also enjoys traveling, attending plays and orchestra concerts, and exploring new cultures.

 

Dr. Daniel Polonsky is bilingual in English and Russian.


Kristin Machuta, LCSW - Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Kristin completed her undergraduate degree at Illinois State University, followed by her graduate school work at Aurora University. She is  a licensed clinical social worker and a certified case manager. In fact, she has worked un case management for 17 years.  Currently Kristin is working with the ARCC team as a LCSW. She works with those struggling with issues around anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, work/life stressors, and relationship issues. Kristin works collaboratively to assist with developing skills and insight into how to improve communication. better control emotions, and face daily challenges. She uses a holistic approach to provide a safe, non-judgmental space for clients to process thoughts and gain skills to improve lives. 
In her free time Kristin enjoys relaxing with a good novel. 

Gregory Malo, Psy.D - Psychologist Emeritus *Retired*

Dr. Gregory Malo was in the first graduating class at the Illinois School for Professional Psychology and became licensed in 1980. He completed his internship at the Illinois Masonic Medical Center and the University of Illinois Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Malo has been a member of the National Academy of Neuropsychology for over 20 years, and has received his 30 years of service award at Edward Hospital. Dr. Malo has retired.  He enjoyed building the practice and watching it grow to meet the needs of the community.   Dr. Malo’s philosophy of care was always an active, directive in treatment approach, and problem focused. 

Dr. Malo has been married for over 40 years and in his retirement enjoys spending time with children and grandchildren.
